About this route
Thomas Bain's longest mountain pass, a remote 68.5 km gravel ribbon on the R339 winding through indigenous Knysna forest and the Keurbooms River hamlet of De Vlugt. The classic gravel-bike loop runs from the Diepwalle Big Tree down to De Vlugt and back — about 70 km and 1,400 m of climbing with no services in between.
