Squealing disc brakes after wet rides — fix?

Shimano MT200s squeal like a stuck pig after every wet ride. I've cleaned the rotors with brake cleaner and re-bedded them. Still noisy.

Is it glazed pads or contamination? When do I just replace the pads?

Had the exact same issue on my MT200s. A proper re-bed fixed it — also check the pads aren't glazed. New rotors if all else fails.

Sounds like glazed or contaminated pads. Sand the pads lightly on flat sandpaper, sand the rotor, and re-bed with 20 hard stops from 25km/h. If oil ever touched them though, just bin the pads — contamination doesn't clean out.

Seconding this — 20 hard stops from speed sorted mine. Cheap fix before buying new pads.

Re-bedding sorted it, thanks. Turns out my chain lube was the culprit — overspray onto the rotor. Lesson learnt 😅
